BREAKING:NLC, TUC set for mother of all strike, June 3, over failed negotiations on New Minimum Wage

From allcitynews.ng By Andrew Ojiezel Following the breakdown in the negotiations over New National Minimum Wage with Federal Government, organised labour has declared nationwide strike from Monday 3rd June 2024. In its vow to paralyse government's activities nationwide, the two Labour centres, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC), cited the refusal of government to shift ground on the N60,000 and refusal to address the hike in electricity tariff as reason for the strike. Following the third deadlock meeting over negotiations on New National Minimum Wage, the organised Labour has informed the masses to stock their houses with foodstuff to avoid being caught as the strike may last longer than expected. The strike is imminent based on expiration of the May 31 2024 deadline given by Labour to government to meet the demand or face the consequences. The third attempt hit the wall on Friday 31 May 2024 and the organised labour expressed readiness for war against federal government refusal to shift ground. The Labour has declared an indefinite nationwide strike from Monday, June 3rd over the failure of the federal government to conclude negotiations on a new national minimum wage and reverse the hike in the electricity tariff.
